Kyla Pleinis is a Senior Licensed Insurance Agent with over 12+ years of experience in the insurance industry, including 10 years with DND Insurance. She specializes in high-risk and impaired-driving insurance, using her frontline underwriting expertise to help clients find fair, adequate coverage tailored to their needs.
Before joining DND, Kyla spent 12 years with Guardian/Alcolock (Smart Start Canada est.2013), where she gained firsthand experience supporting individuals navigating impaired driving programs. This background, combined with her industry knowledge, allows her to understand client challenges on a deeper level and advocate for solutions that genuinely support their success.
Grounded in her Christian faith, Kyla approaches her work with compassion, integrity, and a sense of purpose. She is dedicated to serving clients who are often overlooked in traditional insurance settings and takes pride in helping them regain stability and move forward.
Outside of work, Kyla is active with EFAM for Elevation Worship Church Online and Summit Church Edmonton. She also fosters animals through Second Chance Animal Rescue Society and enjoys live music, travel—especially to Mexico—and riding her Harley.
Paolo Araneta is a Senior Licensed Insurance Agent at DND Insurance, who helps drivers across Alberta with a DUI or IRS FAIL on their record and who need personal or commercial auto insurance. He takes the time to understand each client’s situation and works hard to find the best options to get qualified drivers back on the road with confidence.
Paolo has over 10 years of experience in finance and insurance. His approach is honest, consistent, and built around transparency, making the insurance process feel easy and supportive during a stressful time.
People know Paolo for his compassion and commitment to the people he serves. He’s grateful to support drivers through tough spots and reminds everyone he helps that setbacks are not permanent. Outside of work, Paolo spends his time on the court playing pickleball, exploring new places, buried in a good book, or with friends and family. He’s passionate about helping others succeed, personal growth, and living a meaningful, disciplined life.
Kieran McLaughlin is a licensed Senior Client Services Agent at DND Insurance with over 10 years of experience in insurance and financial services. The past two years at DND have been the most rewarding of his career, primarily because of the company’s family-oriented values and its commitment to supporting clients with compassion and respect.
In his role, Kieran specializes in client service and billing, assisting with policy changes, payment arrangements, and providing clear guidance or reassurance when needed. He approaches every interaction with patience and understanding, always ready to offer support and a helping hand.
Kieran recognizes that many DND clients are navigating a difficult chapter in their lives, and he takes great pride in helping them regain stability. He is passionate about turning a challenging situation into a meaningful learning experience and helping people move forward with confidence.
Outside of work, Kieran enjoys spending time with family and friends, taking trips to the mountains, exploring new restaurants, and watching sports.
Hello! My name is Mackenzie Kendrick, and I’m proud to be the newest Licensed Client Services Agent at DND Insurance. In my role, I assist clients with policy changes, payment options, and navigating their insurance needs with clarity and confidence. While I’m new to DND, my previous experience has shaped me into the dedicated professional I am today.
Before entering the insurance industry, I worked with Smart Start Canada, where I developed a strong understanding of ignition interlock devices and their positive impact on individuals and their families. I later moved into a large insurance agency, where I expanded my knowledge of the industry and gained an understanding of the operational fundamentals of brokerage work.
Today, I use my combined experience from both the program and insurance sectors to simplify the process for clients. My goal is to make it easier for people to get back on track so they can focus on what matters most.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family, friends, and my two dogs. I also love getting out of town to ski in Jasper and Banff—balancing hard work with adventure and taking full advantage of Alberta’s beautiful outdoors.
Gage Woyen brings over a decade of financial experience and a solid background as a licensed insurance broker to his role as CFO and Client Relations Manager for DND Insurance and IPS Canada. His blend of industry expertise, hands-on client service, and financial leadership shapes an insurance experience that is personal, grounded, and built on genuine care for the people he serves—especially those navigating difficult circumstances.
Alongside his work in the insurance industry, Gage operates an international eBay store and a Canadian Amazon business, giving him a broad understanding of both business strategy and day-to-day customer needs.
